Welcome!

Join me as we have fun with our dogs, and then paddle along with the Dog Paddlers—a dragon boat team in Victoria, Canada. You'll meet my Silky Terriers—Abby, Zack, Sami and Gemma—and their feline sister, Bridget. Share with us the joys and challenges of strengthening the human-canine bond as we participate with our dogs in canine agility, trailwalks and canine freestyle.

CERTIFIABLE?

Well, now. Peni tells me that no, they really didn't certify you at this steering course—which is not what they understood beforehand. Apparently, you take the course and then you also have to steer in 3 races. THEN you get your certification. Again, for Brianna, a slam-dunk. With 40 races already to her credit, all it will take is a letter from the Dogpaddlers to confirm that experience and she gets her certification.
Another beautiful day today. Joe did my yardwork for me, in consideration of my pain in the backside. My tailbone, that is. Jack the dog hip-checked me on muddy bit of trail on Mount Doug yesterday and I did the classic feet-out-from-under-you slapstick pratfall, right on my tailbone. It still hurts. Mostly when I sit down (which will make work this week a challenge), but also when I walk at more than a slow cadence. Anyway, a real pain in the butt, to say the least.
