The Dog Paddlers are indeed GOLDEN! We've won a Jade division at a major event—the 2007 Nanaimo Dragon Boat Festival. On July 8th, the team put away the competition with an effort that knocked 6 1/2 seconds off our semi-final time. Like good dogs, we chased down the faster teams from the semi-finals and paddled a great race with a come-from-behind finish that exactly reflected the strategies we've been practicing for the past few months. Many thanks to Steers-Babe Brianna, Drum-Mama Nicole, the always-magnificent Engine Room, Coach George, and all our enthusiastic paddlers. It was a great team effort.
