Great job, Doggies! We paddled our hearts out and finished a very respectable 2nd in the Gold Final B at the Victoria Dragon Boat Festival. The competition was up a notch for all teams, it seemed. Relative to the boats we're used to seeing at the festivals, we finished pretty much right where we would have expected to finish. What's even more impressive is that while in years past, we'd run out of gas at the end of our races, this year all the good coaching and hard work has led us to have an amazing kick at the end, surprising a number of teams who might have thought they could write us off! So while we didn't bring home any 'hardware', I do have to admit that it's easier to put ribbons into the scrapbook than it is medals!The pictures above—of our second heat—were taken by my brother-in-law. We'll see what kind of pictures he and my cousin were able to get of our last race once he's downloaded the files to his computer.
