GARDEN GAMBOL

Well, alright, we weren't exactly "gamboling", we were strolling. But "Garden Gambol" made for some good alliteration in the title of the post!

We hadn't been to Butchart Gardens in a while, so when this destination appeared as a special outing on Peni's list of walks for the week, I thought it was high time that Gemma got her first opportunity to sniff her way along the paths. I left Abby and Zack behind (much to their chagrin), but I figured having Gemma doing her first exploration of the gardens was enough canine handling for me for the evening.

It was a great time to go; the gardens weren't busy at all. The weather was pleasant, the flowers spectacular (especially the dahlias!), the company great, and Gemma only fell into one pool of water (she lost her footing on the stepping stones in the Japanese gardens, and got a bit dampish about the hind end, emerging looking like a drowned rat astern, and a Silky Terrier at the front). She air-dried fairly quickly and was looking her normal self by the time we headed back to the parking lot.

Gemma among the flowers.

Gemma and more flowers.
