Welcome!

Join me as we have fun with our dogs, and then paddle along with the Dog Paddlers—a dragon boat team in Victoria, Canada. You'll meet my Silky Terriers—Abby, Zack, Sami and Gemma—and their feline sister, Bridget. Share with us the joys and challenges of strengthening the human-canine bond as we participate with our dogs in canine agility, trailwalks and canine freestyle.

GOOD NEWS!

GRPC UNITED—the seniors team cobbled together from several different dragon boat teams from the Gorge Rowing and Paddling Centre (including many Dog Paddlers of a certain age)—brought home the GOLD medal from the BC Seniors Games in Nanaimo. Way to go, senior-dogs!

On another front, I kept hoping that Paddle for Kids would update their website with the final total for funds raised this year, but to date there has been nothing. They told us at the event that the amount raised was $68,000 and change—which pretty much matches what was raised in 2006. I finally went to our team site to see if they might have posted a total of how much our team raised, and yes—there it was: $3,959.18. So BIG CONGRATULATIONS to all those who participated, and a big THANK YOU to all who donated to help the cause. In terms of team fund-raising, the Dog Paddlers were seventh.
