Welcome!

Join me as we have fun with our dogs, and then paddle along with the Dog Paddlers—a dragon boat team in Victoria, Canada. You'll meet my Silky Terriers—Abby, Zack, Sami and Gemma—and their feline sister, Bridget. Share with us the joys and challenges of strengthening the human-canine bond as we participate with our dogs in canine agility, trailwalks and canine freestyle.

Paddle For Kids

The Dog Paddlers did themselves proud at the 2007 PADDLE FOR KIDS fundraising event for the BC Childrens Hospital Foundation. While we don't know yet what our complete total was for our team, we did do an excellent job out on the water, finishing 6th out of 24 teams!

This isn't us, but it shows the venue, False Creek, and a few of our co-competitors hard at work.

Between races, we competed in some old-fashioned fun games, all the better to make sure that we were in touch with our inner child. After all, the reason we were there was 'for the kids'. And we're all still kids at heart.

Go watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cyWuVeXH0gI-- if you dare. You'll see if our practice before the Tripod race worked. And in the words of Josh, our former coach....well, make that TWO words: Sports Bra! However, I'm not quite sure what we should say about Coach George...

Wonderful fun, wonderful day, wonderful Dog Paddlers! What a great way to end the season for most of us. And for the over-the-hill gang headed for the Seniors Games in Nanaimo....GOOD LUCK from all your Dog Paddler teammates!
