Our first agility demo of the season is now history. Peni's church folks were looking for a little bit of special entertainment for their summer picnic, and we volunteered. They were a terrific group to perform for—very attentive and appreciative. We had lots of good conversations with them after we finished our show.
Performing for this small group was a good way to kick off our summer slate of demos, as we were trying some new things, and this gave us a chance to work the kinks out. A bit of a dry run for some of our upcoming bigger venues.
We ran ten dogs. Mylo and Lorri made their agility demo debut. They had just finished their agility class in May, so it was great to see them be brave enough to come join our group. They did terrific! They ran the course like seasoned pros.
Abby did very well too. We think maybe the key to getting her to do well on an agility course is to run her to music. We're still trying to figure out how we could actually do that in a real trial, of course. A subcutaneous I-Pod implant, with invisible ear buds?? Hmmmm. Zack did well too, although he did get himself tangled up in the chute, which the little kids who were watching thought was hilarious.
All the dogs were focused and in a good mood. And it was great to see Chinook out on the course again. He's always a crowd-pleaser.
