Another Trailblazers excursion down to Witty's Lagoon last Saturday. The tide wasn't out quite as far as it was on our last hike earlier in May, but the dogs don't seem to mind. As long as there's a modicum of sandy expanse to get themselves running in overdrive and enough ocean to chase sticks in, they're happy.
All told, there were 22 dogs on the hike. Below is a picture of just some of them—taking a breather at the Sitting Lady Falls overlook on the way back up from the lagoon. (I don't know whose picture this is; Peni sent it along from one of our hiking companions...but I don't know from which one!)
On this trip, Gemma did the trail all the way down and all the way back up under her own steam (she had a little friend, Katie, to help carry her back up on our last hike here). She hasn't ventured into the ocean to swim yet, but she's becoming an old pro at beachcombing.
Gemma's Uncle Zack seems to be quite taken aback by whatever she's telling him!
