A BEAUTY OF A DAY

What a glorious day. Sunshine. Warm. And it's only the first week of March! And it's the second time in the past couple of weeks I've had to mow the lawn. (Sorry about that, those of you who are following the blog from the somewhat cooler East! Didn't mean to complain.).

This weekend is the first weekend in ages that I've had to really call my own. It seems like I've been going flat out since the New Year. So the wonderful weather was a bonus to a weekend that already was set to be a good one.

Got in to see Mom this afternoon; she seems to be doing fine—although we were told earlier this week that she had taken another fall in her suite. She refuses to use her walker in the suite—and that's where she's taken all of her falls. Once of these times, she's going to break a hip or something....but she's a stubborn old gal.

This morning, the Trailblazers headed out to the Ed Nixon trail, around Langford Lake. This is the first walk we've gotten to go on in ages, it seems. Abby, Zack and Gemma had a blast. As usual, the hike was followed up with an interlude at Tim Horton's which, considering I hadn't had breakfast as yet, was a welcome stop.

A few pix from the walk this morning:

Mylo looks a tad miffed about the muzzle, but it's made our walks a lot more stress-free for Lorri.

Fonty and Gemma play tag around Katie's feet.

Gemma and Zack on a collision course as Abby patiently waits for them to catch up.

Hmmm...mowing the lawn twice??? Already???

HA! I say you don't truly appreciate Spring unless you're coming out of an Ottawa winter! There are little daffodils poking their noses up in a sheltered spot at school; I haven't needed to wear boots in over a week; laundry was out on the line yesterday when it was 6C, sunny, & gusty west winds AND IT DRIED JUST FINE; today I had to apply sunscreen to my Schurman nose!

However. We don't have your lovely walks to go on with lovely dogs... So I do wish I was out there romping with everyone! Tally ho!

xoxo
