A TOUCH OF SPRING

Well, it seems we went from summer-ish weather to winter-ish weather to spring-ish weather—all in the space of a week. Today, it definitely felt like Spring again. A good day for a walk around the Jennings Lane loops of the Elk Lake trail. I'm not quite sure how many dogs there were for this outing, but I wouldn't be surprised if we weren't closing in on 30. Someone else may have taken a count of them all; I was too busy making sure I knew where my three were at any given moment. Gemma, in particular, likes to go shooting off ahead of the pack, or off on an investigation of a side trail or beach access. She's definitely an adventurous little girl.

Today is Calypso's first birthday. This big lovable gal seems finally to realize where all her legs are, and instead of an awkward frenzy of legs flying in all directions when she runs, she is beginning to move, if not gazelle-like, at least much less like a Holstein cow. Happy Birthday Calypso!
